MARKET MANAGER (Part-time)

Reports To: Chair of Board of Directors
Job Overview: Help Manage Haywood’s Historic Farmers Market, with a focus on communications and marketing.
Expected hours/pay: 5-11 hours/week @ $13/hour

Responsibilities & Duties

• Be responsible for market correspondence and communication, including market email & contact lists, and incoming applications or inquiries. Forward applications to the board and notify vendors. Maintain vendor email list in Google
• Oversee social media postings and event updates on Facebook and Instagram
• Open/close Market if needed to fill in for the in person manager (arrive early; set up signs/Market tent(s)/items; direct vendors to spaces; break down Market tent(s)/items; take down signs; etc.). Greet customers and process mobile merchant system for credit cards and SNAP/EBT cards; distribute Market currency/tokens; keep records for Treasurer
• Plan for print and digital media; distribute materials
• Update website / social media
• Work within Google Workspace
• Take photos of Market; upload images to Google Drive folder
• Assist with fundraising and development

Weekly Task Breakdown (~11 hours w/market day; ~ 5 without)

• Saturday Market – 6 hours
• Market currency (tokens/record keeping) – 1 hour
• Regular email correspondence, communication – 2 hours
• Meetings, social media, newsletter, grants, other – 2 hours
